Todd Podgorski has spent his life serving his community, both in public office and on the front lines of public safety. With more than two decades of experience in law enforcement, Todd brings a real-world understanding of what it takes to keep communities safe and strong.
His commitment to service began early and has remained consistent throughout his life. Todd served on the South St. Paul School Board from 2003 to 2006, working to support students, families, and educators. He later continued that service on the South St. Paul City Council, where he has represented his community across multiple terms since 2011.
Todd’s approach to leadership is grounded in experience, accountability, and a deep understanding of the challenges families face. Whether it’s public safety, education, or rising costs, he believes government should focus on practical solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives.
Todd is running for State Senate to bring that same commitment to service, experience, and common-sense leadership to St. Paul. He believes Minnesota deserves leaders who understand real life, listen to their communities, and are willing to do the work to get things done.

His own story reflects that; Todd and his wife Carrie met while attending Minnesota state colleges where Carrie earned a degree in education and has been a teacher for over 20 years. As a former school board member, Todd knows strong schools are essential to strong communities. He is committed to supporting & strengthening public education and ensuring every student has access to the tools they need to succeed.

He supports expanding access to healthcare, increasing mental health resources, and ensuring hospitals are properly funded to meet the needs of families across the state. He understands that mental health is just as important as physical health and is committed to improving services so individuals and families can get the care they need, when they need it.

Todd believes government must be accountable to the people it serves. He supports responsible spending, reducing waste, and restoring trust so Minnesotans know their tax dollars are being used wisely.
He also supports meaningful reforms, including balanced budget solutions, limiting the influence of money in politics, and term limits so government works for the people, not political insiders and special insiders.
